Who am I and what am I doing here?I came across some cooking blogs a while back and fell head over heels for the food blogging world! That's when I realized this was the perfect way for me to share all those recipes I am often asked for, with family, friends, collegues and all of you. I am, however still a novice to the world of html codes,widgets, gadgets and all that other blogging stuff, so please bear with me as I am still learning the ropes ...and having a great time doing it!
On a more personal level, I was born in Italy but now live in Canada...I am a mom of 3, stepmom of 2, all beautiful girls/young women...life is challenging, hectic and rarely goes as planned, but I am lucky to have a wonderful partner and a fabulous big family to ride this crazy roller coaster ride with... and thankful everyday for all I have!
I love to travel and, thanks to my airline job, I have seen a good share of our beautiful planet ...I love to read anything and everything... I am forever clipping recipes, and I presently own over 120 cookbooks (omg where did they all come from???) (note to self, do not count the shoes and bags in my closet!). But in my defence, I actually do try out the recipes in the books quite often. Although if truth be told, I rarely follow a recipe to the letter, but hey that's what makes cooking fun!
As far as my recipes go...they tend to have a mediterranean flavour to them, it's my backround and what I am most familiar with. However I love ethnic cuisines, and I think trying new foods is one of the best parts of travelling to new places. I really enjoy experimenting with new ingredients and cooking styles...still trying to convince the rest of the family though...lol.
Creating home-cooked meals that are tasty, healthy and economical is important to me, not easy mind you, but definitely worth the effort. Please do not misunderstand me though, I LOVE to eat out! It's a nice treat to have someone else cook and clean up once in a while!
